NBS-4-CLIMATE PROJECT RECEIVES CRITICAL EQUIPMENT FOR CLIMATE EDUCATION

The University of Kisubi has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to climate education and innovation with the successful delivery of state-of-the-art equipment for the NbS-4-Climate ERASMUS+ Capacity Building project.

Equipment Delivery Milestone

The university recently received essential technology infrastructure that will directly support the development and delivery of six innovative graduate-level courses in Nature-Based Solutions for climate change adaptation.

Equipment Received:

Desktop Computer Laboratory

20 high-performance Dell OptiPlex desktop computers with latest-generation Intel Core i7 processors, a scanner and  a 3D printer for creating educational terrain models and ecological demonstrations

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Kisubi, Dr Mugema Deogratius graciously received the equipment in an official handover ceremony attended by key project stakeholders and university leadership. The ceremony marked a tangible milestone in the university’s international collaboration for climate education.

In a remarkable demonstration of the equipment’s capabilities, the 3D printer has already produced its first educational model showcasing the practical applications of this technology in environmental education and nature-based solutions research.

This equipment acquisition represents a critical investment in Uganda’s capacity to address climate change through education and innovation. The desktop laboratory will serve as the primary learning environment for students enrolled in the NbS-4-Climate graduate courses, while the 3D printer will enable the creation of tangible educational models for teaching complex ecological and environmental concepts.

The University of Kisubi serves as a key Ugandan partner, focusing on integrating traditional knowledge with modern climate science to build community resilience.
