Born in Kyotera District in 1962, Brother Doctor Mugema Deogratias joined the University of Kisubi as Director of Human Resources on 1^st September 2019. He was installed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kisubi on 3^rd January 2022.

Brother Doctor Mugema holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), specializing in Finance from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) – Kenya, Master of Business Administration (Finance) at the University of Akron (Ohio), United States of America and Bachelor of Arts in Finance (Summa Cum Laude) from Walsh University (Ohio), United States of America.

As a trained teacher/lecturer, Doctor Mugema has vast experience in teaching, training, coaching, mentoring, research, leadership, and management, having served in various academic and administrative capacities in Uganda.

As a Finance specialist, Doctor Mugema has served previously as a Financial Manager (2001 – 2009) at Uganda Martyrs University, teacher of Business Studies and Head of Business Department at Caltec Academy – Makerere and Acting Principal of Caltec Academy – Makerere in 1992.

He has served as Assistant Provincial Superior of the Brothers of Christian Instruction, Province of St Teresa of the Child Jesus, Kisubi (2006 – 2009); a Member of Provincial Council of the Brothers of Christian Instruction, Province of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus, Kisubi (2003 -2015); a Member of the Registered Trustees of the Uganda Brothers of Christian Instruction (2012 – to date); a Member Board of Governors of Rubaga Queen of Africa Girls’ Secondary School (2012), Caltec Academy- Makerere (1999-2013); St Charles Lwanga Kasasa Secondary School (2003-2006), Nkozi Hospital (2001-2007), St Leo’s College Kyegobe (2008-2010); Chairperson of the Board of Governors – St Aloysius Girls Secondary School, Bwanda; Advisor to Ziika Women’s Integrated Development Association (ZWIDA); a Council Member of Kisubi Brothers Centre and Constituent College of Uganda Martyrs University.

As an academician, Doctor Mugema has published journal articles that have been recognized nationally and regionally. His area of research is in Finance, especially Economic Integration and Capital markets.
