Bro. Mukasa Pontian is a member of an International Religious Congregation known as the Brothers of Christian Instruction. He is also a professional Librarian, holding a Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science from Makerere University located in Kampala city, Uganda. He is currently the University Librarian of the University of Kisubi, who has seen the University grow over time, since 2006 when he joined its service.
Previously, he filled various administrative posts in the Brothers’ projects and establishments for over 20 years, during which he acquired management skills and competencies which have enabled him achieve the desired results. Presently, he is the Chairperson of the Registered Trustees of the Uganda Brothers of Christian Instruction. He is also a member of the Uganda Library and Information Association (ULIA).
Prior to joining the University service, he pursued and graduated with a Bachelor of Library and Information Science still from Makerere University, where he majored in information organization. He is also a qualified agricultural practitioner, having been awarded a Certificate and Diploma in Agriculture at Baraka Agricultural College, Kenya, and Bukalasa Agricultural College in Uganda, respectively.
