Deputy Vice Chancellor
Br. Dr. Celestine Kakooza is a Uganda national, born on 18th June 1957, holds a Doctorate of philosophy in Education, from Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA); a Post Graduate Diploma in Education, from Kenyatta University (KU); a Master of Arts in administration and leadership, from State University of New York-USA(SUNNY); a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Walsh University Ohio, USA. He did his secondary in St. Henry’s college Kitovu, primary seven from Nkoni primary and lower primary from Kitakyusa primary school.
Work experience
Br. Celestine has wide experience as a high school teacher, a lecturer, and an administrator, that spans to over thirty (30) years. He served as a high school teacher from 1980 to1988 including Rubaga girls’ high school, Pope Paul VI memorial Centre, St Charles Lwanga Kasasa Secondary school and St Charles Lwanga Mubende. He moved to Kenya and served as high school principal at St. Martins High School Meru-Kenya till 2001. It was in 2001 that he left high school and joined University service. He joined Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a tutorial fellow, and became an assistant lecturer in 2002. In 2006, he was appointed the financial administrator (F&A) of the same institution, apostion her served till 2015
In 2016, he left his motherland Uganda and appointed as the Deputy Vice chancellor of University of Kisubi (UniK) till now.
Other responsibilities
Br. Celestine served as the Chairperson of the Board of Governors of Duluti Secondary School, Arusha Tanzania for 8years. He served as a member of university council of Un8iversity of Kisubi for 1 year he also served as a member of the University Management of Catholic University of Eastern Africa for 10 years. He was appointed to the Quality Assurance Committee of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. He also served as member of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa provident fund.
Service as a Brother
Br. Celestine served in various capacities: Community Bursar for both Kasasa and Mubende Brothers’ communities, Brothers’ community superior of Meru-Kenya, La Mennais House in Makerere, He was also appointed as assistant provincial superior and member of provincial community of Kenya and Tanzania for 6years.
